What a Great Party.

Thank you to House Party and Perler Beads. We had a great party with the boys and the bead projects. We made Monkeys and Lizards. It was so much fun and the boys got so creative with there bead projects, then we added the Key Chain that came with them. Hope to get invited to do another party soon. This was such a great experience and I can not wait to do it again. We have a few kits left over so I think I am going to use them for dour Cub Scout meeting, the boys will have so much fun putting them together.

Enjoy the pics. Go visit House Party and see what great things you and your family and friends can do. (and it free)

Dinner Time!

Well I have been taking a siesta it seems. We have been so busy getting back into our routine with both of the boys now in school and the new schedules between soccer, Tae Kwan Do and cub scouts it has been a challenge. But here we are and I am going to try my hand tonight and link up to some parties (I have never done it before so bear with me.)

As I was saying we have a busy schedule and I need to ensure that we have time to have dinner together as a family. This is not always easy as I am a working mother who has an hour commute. So to help out I try and make a few meals ahead of time so that all we have to do is heat up the main course and make a vegetable or salad to go with it. So for my first link up I have decided to linkup what I made for dinner the next few nights.

I would not be able to do any of this if it wasn't for a great meal planning website that I use called E - Mealz. This site is terrific and for a low price of $1.25 a week they give you a full weeks meal list (including sides) the recipes and the best part I think is the shopping list. My Kids love the dinners and I love the convience. I take the menu every week after I have done the shopping and put it up ont he fridge so we all know what we are having that night and for the rest of the week. The shopping list is great and before I head off to the store I shop my fridge and pantry first and then add to my list anything else that is needed.

So here we go hear are the 2 meals I made tonight and again A BIG SHOUT OUT TO THE TEAM AT E -MEALZ PLEASE GO VISIT THERE WEBSITE!

Stuffed Zuchini

4 Zucchini squash, split lengthwise
(1t oil, 1 tsp mince galric, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp pepper)
1 onion chopped
1 green pepper chopped
1/2 c of zuchini
1lb ground turkey
1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
pine nuts or chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

1. scoop out each zucchini and save this
2. chop you onion, green peppers and 1/2 cup zucchini (this is what you scooped out)
3. add your oil, garlic, onion, pepper and zucchini to a skillet and saute for 5 minutes
4. While the veggies are sauteing take your zucchini halves and place them in a microwave safe dish with a half a cup of water face down and cook on high for 4 minutes covered with platic wrap. (note that I do not have a big enough micorwave to do them all so I put them on a plate with water and covered them.) Once they are done put them in a baking dish and let them rest before filling them.
5. Add the turkey to the veggies and cook till its brown. Add salt and pepper
6. once cooked take off heat and add the cheese and then stuff each zucchini and sprinkle the top with nuts. Place in the oven for 10 minutes.

These are my personal new favorite.
We also threw together this quiche.

Where have I been?

Well, it has been about 2 weeks since my last post, I guess life just keeps going. So here I am. I have been trying to create and get life organized before we go back to school. OMG its 3 weeks away. I do have good news my husband who was laid off 4 weeks ago started his new job last week. We are so blessed and prove just how talented he is as not only did he get the job he has but another job offer also. This is what we have been working towards. So yeah Ricardo!

I have also been thinking and making. This week I found a great website called ezmeals that create a weekly menu for you and also gives you a shopping list, the link is on my page. For just 1.25 a week. This is so great as I am always struggling on what to make for dinner and with both of us working it has made it so easy (granted we are only on day 3. I love the fact it prints on 1 piece of paper and if there is a recipe it is right next to it. I will keep you updated on how it goes. Oh and it also creates the meals by store so if you shop ALDI or Kroegers (Wish there was one for Wegmans) or a generic store it creates it based on the sales for that week. How ingenious! GO EZMEALS girls!

I have also been trying to keep up with the pictures of the family and while my goal was everyday  it is allot more than it was!

I will be posting the pics of what I made so far and also some more of the familia.

The other thing I did this week was turn my cousin Debra who is a super talented woman onto all of your blogs and when I see her in 3 weeks am going to get her up and running on her own blog. Wait till you hear her story I just love her! She is my second mother and my best friend!

Well off to bed now (oh need to mail some things for ebay!
Toodles.

Its to darn hot!

Well it has been a crazy heat wave here on the right coast and it has been all about keeping cool. So we have been hanging out in the house way to much. We did have a great day today took the boys this morning to Lowes to do the project which was this cool UFO (i will post the pics soon) and then off to see Nana and Pop Pop. Then hung out for a bit, kids went into the hot tub which we turned the heater off on so now its like a giant kiddie pool. But I was getting antsy and needed to get out so we went Bowling! The boys had a blast and so did we.

Lucas was so tired he fell asleep in the car on the way home which was a good thing ( i know you know what I mean) then it was time to whip up some things for the church picnic tomorrow. BTW Ricardo is going to be playing the keyboard for the service.

Oh and before I forget I made a great wreath my first project that I have done from reading the sites. It was a paperback book wreath that looks so great, I can't wait to make some for my friends that are avid readers. Thanks to According to Kelly and Living for lindsay for the tutorial on the wreath.

And I have been trying to keep up with all the pictures so stay tuned.

Well going to spend some time reading blogs and then off to bed because I have Jury Duty tomorrow. Looking forward to doing my part and getting some time to read Eat Love Pray.

Day 2

So here we are up and ready to go this morning..... Sort of what to do what to do today, do we tackle the garage or the basement? I am feeling basement because it is hot out there and teh faster I get the basement organized the faster I can get back to my crafting.

I have so many things in my head that I want to do but need the space to get them started so I think I have just made up my mind it is tackle the basement.

I have also come up with a very small bucket list for the balance of the summer.
  1. Learn how to design my blog page
  2. Take pictures of the Family everyday Good Bad and Indifferent
  3.  Get creative!

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Well this is my first post. I have decided to delve into the world of blogging. Why? I need an outlet and a place where I can talk whether or not anyone is listening. That does not matter! I am a mom of 2 great boys ages 5 and 6 and a wife to a great husband. I have named my blog An Amy called Mom because that is who I am I am MOM. But here I can be all I can be Mom, I can be Amy and I can be me. I want to take this new adventure of blogging and find some of the things that have been muddled up and lost in the throws of life. Through this journey I want to meet new people, get creative again, start to write and capture and enjoy life as it is intended. I want to put out a challenge for myself and I will capture it here in this blog. So here is my first challenge:

For the next 365 days you will take pictures of each member of the family to create a journal of our life in the next year!

I hope that many of you will find me and come along this journey that I am starting. I am so looking forward to learning how to blog, creating my blog page and finding out all sorts of new things!
